John Gilbert Architects Ltd

   John Gilbert Architects Ltd is a Glasgow based design studio, passionate about designing places for people and the planet. The majority of their work is for public bodies, housing associations and community organisations. They are currently working with the Mackintosh Environmental Architecture Research Unit at the Glasgow School of Art to develop knowledge of the performance of retrofit measures to buildings, develop a capability to undertake building performance evaluation in the energy and environmental refurbishment of existing housing and relate this to architectural design.


Enewall Ltd

Enewall have been developing their own polymer based render and along with their stone aggregate products have a strong and recognised brand in the market place. They are currently working with the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde to embed advanced polymer chemistry expertise with supporting analysis tools and techniques and develop the next generation of advanced renders.


First ScotRail Ltd

First ScotRail Ltd operates over 95% of passenger train services in Scotland under a franchise agreement with the Scottish Executive. They are currently working with the department of Mechanical, Electrical and Environmental Engineering at Glasgow Caledonian University to review existing maintenance practices, develop condition monitoring products on First ScotRail passenger trains and identify optimal cost effective maintenance strategy and periodicities.



Moorbrook Textiles Ltd

Moorbrook Textiles Ltd, produces woven textile products at its manufacturing plants in Ayr and Peebles. They are currently working with the University of Strathclyde to create a world-class lean and adaptive textiles business through supply chain optimisation,  embedding a continuous improvement/innovation culture and utilising advanced loom diagnostics solutions.


Loretto Care

Loretto Care works closely with the Scottish Government and Local Authorities to provide housing, care and support to those in greatest need. They are currently working with the department of Health, Nursing and Midwifery at the University of the West of Scotland to develop, evaluate and embed an evidence-based assessment, monitoring and intervention package specifically for individuals with alcohol-related brain damage living in supported care.


Scottish Canals

Scottish Canals is the operating name of the British Waterways Board. It looks after the Scottish canals, conserving them as part of our heritage, and transforming them to play a vital role in Scotland today. They are currently working with the department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Strathclyde to embed an environmentally sustainable approach to sediment management, reducing operational costs, generating opportunities for revenue growth and addressing emerging waste legislation requirements.
