Scottish Honeyberries Ltd

The Scottish Honeyberries Coop was formed in response to the increasing interest of growing honeyberry fruit in Scotland. Scottish Honeyberries Ltd has been awarded a KTP Project with the James Hutton Institute. The project aims to transfer fundamental knowledge, around the novel fruit crop Honeyberry, into commercial practice through the development of expertise which will have implications in new fruit product development and the creation of new products for customers.

Innovent Technology Limited develop software solutions for the agricultural sector. They are working with the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde to embed advanced image/video processing, data analytics and machine learning expertise in the business to both improve the performance of their QSCAN and QBOX systems and enhance animal welfare and farm productivity. This is their second KTP project.

Rossyew

Rossyew was established with the aim of offering an efficient by-product collection service to the Scottish Salmon industry and producing value added ingredients for the pet food and feed industry. They are currently working with the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Strathclyde to increase the yield of higher value Salmon oil from Salmon viscera by reducing the residual oil content in the lower value protein product.

Highland Spring Limited engaged the services of academics from the University of Strathclyde in this highly successful KTP project, which built on the success of an earlier partnership. The work has improved the effectiveness of new bottling lines by instilling a continuous improvement culture at the company, including processes, methods, tools techniques and systems within the operations function. These were integrated with the company’s overall business systems and processes.
