Howden Group Ltd

Howden design, engineer and supply air and gas handling equipment, including industrial fans, process gas compressors and rotary heat exchangers, with a focus on power generation, petrochemical, mining, steelmaking and cement manufacturing sectors where rigorous air and gas handling is required. They worked with the Marketing Department at the University of Strathclyde to develop and implement a sustainable new product development procedure that ensures timely and cost-effective delivery of commercially viable products to the market.

Alexander Dennis Ltd manufacture buses, producing single and double deck bus chassis and bodies, and offering a range of conventional and electric hybrid (Enviro series) vehicles. They worked with the Department of Design, Manufacture and Engineering Management at the University of Strathclyde to improve resource demand forecasting on New Product Development projects utilising a novel approach to predictive modelling.

The UK Offshore Oil and Gas Industry Association Limited

Oil & Gas UK is the leading representative body for the UK offshore oil and gas industry. It is currently working with the Centre for Obesity Research and Epidemiology (CORE), the Institute for Health and Welfare Research, the School of Computing and the IDEAS Research Institute at Robert Gordon University to develop a capability for accurately profiling offshore worker’s size in a systematic and sustainable way, informing safety equipment, working environment design and operational procedures.
