CFD Design & Development Engineer (KTP Associate)

UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST OF SCOTLAND IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LINELL RENEWABLES

Position:        CFD Design & Development Engineer – KTP Associate

Full Time:       35 hours

Fixed Term:   30 months     

Based at:        Linell Renewables in Johnstone, Renfrewshire

Salary:            £26,000 - £30,000

An exciting opportunity has become available for a masters level candidate to support the Company in achieving its strategic goal by undertaking a comprehensive assessment of its current tidal turbine technology and completing the development of the current and potential new products.  This position is a 30 month fixed term contract, with a £5k dedicated training budget tailored towards your personal development.

Qualifications we require:

As a minimum, you will hold a Higher Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.  For example, appropriate qualifications may come from aeronautics or motor sports.

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Experience of CFD projects development, the use of CFD software and track record in implementing CFD analysis.
  • Knowledge of ANSYS Fluent/CFX

Essential skills we require as a minimum:

  • Ability to analyse, design and develop CFD analysis projects within a dynamic business/academic environment. Good project management and strong analytical skills.
  • You will have strong analytical and numerical skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Expertise in technical writing and preparation of quality reports.. 
  • You will have the ability to deliver results in a highly dynamic organisation under tight schedules and the ability to work independently.
  • You will demonstrate an enthusiasm to learn and explore new technical opportunities
