Data & Systems Analyst (KTP Associate)

University of the West of Scotland in Partnership with Paisley South Housing Association

University of the West of Scotland is a leading edge modern University and we are at an exciting stage in our development.   We have renewed our academic and international focus and are growing our research and knowledge exchange.  Our investment in Engineering now sees us recruiting a number of academic posts in the School.  We are looking for engaged and talented individuals to make a real impact on the local, national and international communities we serve.

Paisley South Housing Association (PSHA) is a registered social landlord (RSL) that manages and maintains homes to let to those in housing need and, where necessary, supporting them to sustain their tenancies through the provision of various services.  The company is embarking on a collaborative project to procure a new housing management system that will best fit its future needs and provide sophisticated business process automation, business intelligence (BI) and analytics capability.  This project will support PSHA's wider digital inclusion strategy as well as addressing funding pressures to find efficiency savings and deliver "more for less".

We wish to recruit an Honours graduate (minimum 2.1 classification) in Business Technology, Information Technology Management, Information Systems, or equivalent. The successful candidate should possess knowledge and experience of business systems analysis, data management and reporting and have strong project management skills. The key focus of the collaborative project is the review and analysis of existing enterprise systems and data and the creation of a detailed technical specification which can be used to inform the procurement of a new housing management system. As such, some knowledge of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) procurement process, preferably at enterprise level, and experience in the preparation of associated technology specification is desirable, as is the use of data reporting tools and the support of servers and general desktop technologies in a business environment. You must have strong interpersonal skills and you will be expected to work well independently and with others and to deliver successful outcomes to tight deadlines. Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to exercise a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy are also requirements of the post.

This is a 15 month fixed term post, which will be based at PSHA premises in Paisley. It is anticipated that PSHA will require to recruit to a full-time ICT post at the end of the procurement project. You will report to a senior PSHA manager and benefit from the support and the profile that this affords whilst also being supervised by a senior academic from the School of Engineering and Computing at the University of the West of Scotland.

The University of the West of Scotland is committed to provide a supportive and inclusive working environment.   We are working to improve the gender balance in the School, and as such we particularly welcome applications from women.
