KTP Associate – in partnership with Redspire Ltd

The Department of Design Manufacture and Engineering Management (DMEM) at the University of Strathclyde in partnership with Redspire Ltd. (http://redspire.co.uk/) seek to appoint a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate. The KTP is a trilateral collaborative project between the Associate, the University and an industrial partner (see www.ktponline.org.uk). The project will enhance Redspire’s organisational learning capability and develop new, commercially valuable, approaches to knowledge management. Underpinning Redspire’s planned business expansion in the UK and overseas, this strategic project will involve the Associate working directly with senior management and the company founder, providing excellent learning and professional career development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be employed by the University to work within the company, Redspire Ltd. based in Glasgow. They will be fully supported by a team of academics based at the University of Strathclyde. The Associate will act as a conduit to deliver academic expertise into the company. Support includes an individual development plan, structured personal training, and registration for an MPhil (free of charge), if appropriate.

This 24-month post with Redspire Ltd and the University of Strathclyde is an exciting and challenging position which will provide an ambitious and committed candidate with valuable experience operating within a fast paced software consultancy. Engaging with all staffing functions and taking ownership of project delivery you will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvement within Redspire which will involve designing, implementing and optimising a KM strategy and bringing about organisational culture change. This strategic role will allow you to develop your commercial awareness and ability to interact with clients; you will develop technical skills in Knowledge Management; contemporary Continuous Improvement frameworks, tools and techniques; process modelling; and working knowledge of learning culture and organisations.

To be considered for the role, you will be educated to a minimum of a Masters Degree level in a business related subject, or have equivalent relevant experience. You will have relevant work experience with enthusiasm for the role, with the ability to influence and engage, inspire confidence and manage change. Engaging with a variety of stakeholders from academia and industry you will be an excellent communicator with strong presentation and reporting skills as well as possessing well developed interpersonal and project management skills. With commercial awareness you will have an interest in technology and how it benefits business.

Whilst the position is for a fixed term initially, it is the intention of the company to retain the associate subject to performance, and for that individual to be a key member of the business moving forward.
