Design & Development Engineer (KTP Associate)

Location - Company Based (Coatbridge, Glasgow)

Salary - Salary Up to £30,000 per annum, plus £4,000 personal development budget (A higher salary will be considered for candidates with a PhD)

An exciting opportunity for a Design & Development Engineer has become available to work full time on a 24 month Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).  The aim of the project is to embed engineering and microbiology expertise to facilitate the design, development, testing and launch of the next generation of microbial disinfection and electrostatic spraying and fogging decontamination technology at Touch-less Hygiene UK Ltd, trading as Sanondaf.  Sanondaf, the brand, was established in the UK in 2014, following research into the most effective products and methods of application to prevent infection and cross contamination.  They specialise in advanced disinfection and decontamination services to help eradicate microorganisms and infections that can cause health issues in everyday life for people and animals.

The successful candidate must possess:

Minimum of MSc, MEng, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent research and development experience. 

Application requirements: 

Knowledge and/or experience is required in the following:

Experienced in mechanical design including product design and development, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), project management, 3D modelling, experimental testing of mechanical designs and a willingness to explore aspects of microbial disinfection and decontamination technology.  

Essential skills we require as a minimum:

  • Expected to have good mechanical and product design knowledge and understanding
  • Skilled in the techniques of mechanical design and product development.
  • Understanding of experimental design, design for manufacture and product selection.
  • Understanding of computational techniques related to the design of fluid systems.
  • Well-developed project management and research organisational skills
  • Skilled in analytical techniques for design of fluid systems
