Supply Chain Analyst (KTP Associate)

Salary range: Up to £30,000 per annum plus £4,000 personal development budget
FTE: 1.0 (35 hours/week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Department of Strategy and Organisation at the University of Strathclyde in association with Fishers Services Ltd. 

This appointment presents an opportunity to develop a capability to de-commoditise textile products by making them smarter and higher quality through adoption of an optimised RFID tracking system in the textile industry. 

The partnership will provide a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic graduate to be instrumental in supporting innovative management of the upstream and downstream supply chain and designing technology enabled new servitisation business models. The project aim is to apply strategic business modelling tools, processes and data analytics which will embed and optimise an RFID system to enhance competitiveness and supply chain visibility in an established and innovative textile business. 

This 24 month fixed term contract position is based at Fishers Services Ltd in Coatbridge (www.fisherslaundrygroup.co.uk). Fishers was established in 1900 and provides industrial linen and workwear rentals services to 4-5* hotels & restaurants, workwear, cleanrooms and healthcare throughout Scotland.  

To be considered for the role you will be a graduate with a 2.1 honours degree in Business and Engineering disciplines and have a Masters or PhD in Supply Chain Management, Project Management or Operations Management related fields. You will have industrial experience in supply chain management. You will have knowledge of RFID applications and tracking systems and be able to demonstrate financial awareness e.g. control costs and think in terms of profit and loss. 

This position will require you to plan activities and projects well in advance and take account of possible changing circumstances. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise way. You will have the ability to break information into component parts, patterns and relationships. 

You will be an employee of the University of Strathclyde but will spend most of your working time at the company's premises in Coatbridge near Glasgow.  It is anticipated that following this 24 month fixed term appointment, there may be the opportunity for you to be offered future employment within Fishers Services Ltd. and move to managerial positions. The position has an additional allocated training budget of £4,000 for personal development.
